Why you Should Join Diaspora Now

Today the House of Representatives passed the cybersecurity bill (CISPA) that allows “private businesses to share customers’ personal information with any government entity, including the National Security Agency.” What this means for us is that they can now use services like Facebook for data mining. This isn’t shocking considering they’ve been doing this for years, but now is as good as time as ever to promote a social network that gives you privacy and control — Diaspora.

Diaspora literally means “the movement, migration, or scattering of people away from an established homeland.”

Diaspora is nonprofit, user-owned, and open-sourced.
