Love is Metaphysical Gravity

Love is metaphysical gravity

I first heard of Buckminster Fuller from his book Operation Manual for Spaceship Earth. After reading this classic I was enthralled to know more about the author. Today, in search of inspiration, I researched quotes of his and one in particular caught my attention:

“Love is Metaphysical Gravity.” -Buckminster fuller

Why did this quote strike me with such inspiration? It inspired me enough to dedicate a sketch to it (I need serious work on writing words ^_^). The reason why this quote influences me is because it paints the meaning of love as a force that inundates us and persists as a critical element of every part of our life.

As far as we know, gravity is one of the four fundamental forces and pulls all matter together. Calling love ‘metaphysical’ gravity is precise in the sense that love pulls us all together. Whether love is found in a relationship or in a particular interest we are bound by the emotion that love seems to generate within us.

Love can be thought of as a universal principle that binds us to one another in the metaphysical sense of our emotions.  There is no escaping it.

Oh and one more thing – I will always love all of you. Each and every one of you human beings. The love I have for humanity is my highest motivation. Maybe that’s why this quote means so much to me.
